(Photo by Supakit Buyam)The Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT) predicts that robotics and artificial intelligence will become part of infrastructure projects, home-building and utility services in the future. Thanet Veerasiri, president of the EIT, said urban living trends will move towards "smart living", and future urban life and housing are likely to become increasingly modernised and convenient. People's homes in the era of Thailand 4.0 will have efficient online systems and technology to help reduce energy consumption, Mr Thanet said. Future housing must be conducive to mobility and mass transportation, he said at a press briefing for an exhibition to mark National Engineering Day. Issara Boonyoung, honorary president of the Housing Business Association, said future housing will consist of mainly housing estates and condominiums where residents can share facilities.
